Ottoman’s Head House
The original house no longer exists.
The Gothic corner house has an oriel window on a console with a head of a bearded man, which reminded the locals of feared Ottomans and from which the name of the house is derived. After a fire of the neighbouring Golden Sun Inn, both houses were pulled down and replaced by the new building of the town savings bank constructed between the years 1884 and 1885.
