St. Bartholomew’s Hospital

The object no longer exists
A hospital was founded around 1270 by the Brotherhood of the Holy Spirit by the bridge across the Ohře (Eger) River; its administration was soon transferred to the Knights of the Cross with the Red Star. The half-timbered building from 1414 was replaced by a new building in 1685, which was further extended in 1742. The hospital burnt down in 1809. The new building, not constructed until 1828, was damaged during the destruction of the bridge in 1945, and later it was removed completely.
