Turner Monument
After its unveiling in 1913, the monument became perceived as a symbol of the unity of the German people, which played a major role in the multinational Austro-Hungarian Empire and later Czechoslovakia. The entire monument was blown to pieces after the end of the war as an alleged symbol of German nationalism.
